Welcome to the Hamburg Sustainability Forum
The Hamburg Sustainability Forum (NFH) is a civil society alliance for sustainability in Hamburg. In 2018, the Senate of Hamburg (federal government) mandated the NFH to act as a watchdog for the implementation of the 17 UN-Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in the city of Hamburg.
34 NGOs constitute the NFH, offering a broad array of perspectives on different aspects of sustainability in Hamburg.
We work with policymakers, public administration and non-governmental actors to support the achievement of the 17 UN Sustainable Development Goals in Hamburg by 2030. We focus on key levers for sustainable development and push for a more ambitious sustainability governance on the local level.

About Us
Creating Sustainable Values Together
The Hamburg Sustainability Forum (NFH) supports and accompanies the process of implementing the 17 global Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the United Nations in Hamburg. In this role, it was established in 2018 by the responsible authority for Environment, Energy, Climate, and Agriculture (BUKEA) of Hamburg.
The NFH is a civil society alliance consisting of 34 Hamburg-based member organizations. These include BUND, NABU, the Chamber of Commerce, the Chamber of Skilled Crafts (ZEWU), ADFC, the Michael Otto Environmental Foundation, Schutzgemeinschaft Deutscher Wald/RENN Nord, Hamburger Sportbund e.V., and many more. More information about our members can be found under the "Participants" section. The NFH is supported by the Michael Otto Environmental Foundation.
We drive the implementation of the 17 UN SDGs in Hamburg through dialogue with decision-makers from politics, administration, business, and civil society. Our work is guided by the Hamburg Senate's document "Implementation of the United Nations Sustainability Goals in Hamburg" from 2017.
